BUFFALO, NEW YORK – “On behalf of HEALTHeLINK and our sponsoring organizations we are honored to receive $16.1 million in funding from the Obama Administration as part of the Beacon Community Program. This is fantastic news for our community and a testament to the unprecedented collaboration among our hospitals, health plans and healthcare providers as well as more than 40 community partners, including the P2 Collaborative of WNY who have come together and who have worked so hard to make today’s announcement a reality.
“We are also extremely grateful to our congressional delegation for their support and advocacy, including United States Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirstin Gillibrand and Representatives Louise Slaughter, Brian Higgins and Chris Lee. We are further grateful to President Obama and his administration for recognizing all the hard work and effort put forth by our community in making HEALTHeLINK the pre-eminent clinical information exchange in the United States.
“I would be remiss if I did not personally thank our founding sponsors, including the BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Catholic Health, Erie County Medical Center, Independent Health, Kaleida Health, Roswell Park and Univera Healthcare for their commitment and leadership.
“Finally I want to recognize the New York State Department of Health for their support and leadership for providing the seed money to HEALTHeLINK and the various other clinical information exchanges throughout New York State through the HEAL program.
“We look forward to discussing in further detail what this award means to our community at a later date.”
