BUFFALO, NEW YORK –Jamestown Area Medical Associates, recently began using HEALTHeLINK with a goal of improving the quality of patient care through better access to clinical information and the reduction of duplicate tests. The physicians and staff at this practice have been trained in using HEALTHeLINK technology as well as all privacy and security policies.
To date more than 300 physician and health care practices have joined HEALTHeLINK, Western New York’s clinical information exchange, in order to immediately and securely access patient health information when and where it’s needed most – at the point of care.
In addition, nearly 300,000 Western New Yorkers have signed a consent form to allow physicians and health care providers involved in their care to access health information such as lab and radiology reports, prescription histories and other data through HEALTHeLINK. About HEALTHeLINK: The not-for-profit organization was established through funding from BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, The Catholic Health System, Erie County Medical Center Corporation, Independent Health Association, Kaleida Health, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Univera Healthcare and the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers Capital Grant Program (HEAL NY) from New York State. HEALTHeLINK also received one of the country’s largest awards as part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services’ Beacon Community Cooperative Agreement Program.
