Home / News / Press Releases / HEALTHeLINK WELCOMES LOCKPORT HEALTH CARE PRACTICE TO WESTERN NEW YORK’S CLINICAL INFORMATION EXCHANGE HEALTHeLINK WELCOMES LOCKPORT HEALTH CARE PRACTICE TO WESTERN NEW YORK’S CLINICAL INFORMATION EXCHANGEBUFFALO, NEW YORK – More than 300 physician practices across Western New York have joined HEALTHeLINK with a goal of improving the quality of patient care through better access to clinical information at the point of care. Physical Rehabilitation Associates, PLLC, a Lockport-based health care practice, recently began utilizing Western New York’s clinical information exchange. HEALTHeLINK is a collaborative effort among Western New York health care organizations for health care providers to share their patients’ clinical information securely and electronically. Through HEALTHeLINK, a physician has immediate access to patient data, including lab and radiology reports, prescription histories, transcribed reports and more. Patients allow physicians and other authorized clinical professionals to access their health information by signing a consent form. More than 325,000 Western New Yorkers have already given their health care providers better access to the information they need by completing a consent form. About HEALTHeLINK: The not-for-profit organization was established through funding from BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, The Catholic Health System, Erie County Medical Center Corporation, Independent Health Association, Kaleida Health, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Univera Healthcare and the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers Capital Grant Program (HEAL NY) from New York State.
