HEALTHeLINK’S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO BOARD OF STATEWIDE HEALTH ORGANIZATION

New York eHealth Collaborative advocates for statewide health information technology priorities

BUFFALO, NEW YORK – Daniel Porreca, executive director of HEALTHeLINK, Western New York’s clinical information exchange, was appointed to a three-year term on the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) board of directors. The Collaborative is a public-private sector partnership to build consensus on state health information technology priorities, including physician adoption of electronic health records and consumer consent policies among others.
With more than 25 years of experience in the health care and technology industry, Porreca has a wealth of knowledge and strategic understanding of health care technology and its application in the clinical setting. He has served as executive director of HEALTHeLINK since 2007.
“The NYeC board is comprised of New York State health care leaders and I’m honored to have been selected to represent HEALTHeLINK and the state’s other clinical information exchanges,” said Porreca. “Through this important collaborative effort, we can advance and improve the quality of care, the cost of care, and the patient experience with health care delivery in our community and across the state through health information technology initiatives.”
