HEALTHeLINK EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DANIEL PORRECA TO PARTICIPATE IN INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH TECHNOLOGY TRANSFORMATION SUMMIT
 
BUFFALO, NEW YORK – Daniel Porreca, executive director of HEALTHeLINK, Western New York’s clinical information exchange, will participate in the Institute for Health Technology Transformation Health IT Summit April 5-6, 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia. Porreca will serve as a panelist for the discussion titled “Intelligent Health Information Exchange (HIE): Utilizing analytics with HIE data to provide proactive care,” which will focus on how to engage stakeholders and ensure their trust and support in addition to addressing the issues of privacy, security and quality of data.
Now in its seventh year, the Health IT Summit is the premier executive summit focused on the strategies and tools for customer care, collaboration and efficiency in the healthcare provider markets. The event brings together c-level physician, practice management and IT decision makers from provider organizations and physician practices to share the latest solutions for health information technology.
About HEALTHeLINK: The not-for-profit organization was established through funding from BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, The Catholic Health System, Erie County Medical Center Corporation, Independent Health Association, Kaleida Health, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Univera Healthcare and the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers Capital Grant Program (HEAL NY) from New York State. HEALTHeLINK also received one of the country’s largest awards as part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services’ Beacon Community Cooperative Agreement Program.
 
HEALTHeLINK stakeholders include a broad representation of healthcare professionals and organizations throughout the eight-county Western New York region such as the State University of New York at Buffalo, P2 Collaborative, Chautauqua County Health Network, the WNY Rural Area Health Education Center and local county public health departments.
