HEALTHeLINK BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 
BUFFALO, NEW YORK – HEALTHeLINK, Western New York’s clinical information exchange, announces Cheryl Howe, executive vice president, operations at BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, has been appointed chair of the organization’s board of directors.
 
Howe previously served in an advisory position on the organization’s board of directors, and has been engaged with the clinical information collaborative effort since February 2009.
 
“HEALTHeLINK continues to be at the forefront of health information technology and clinical information exchanges - not only in the eight counties of Western New York but across the entire country,” said Howe. “I look forward to assuming this leadership role, guiding HEALTHeLINK on our collaborative projects and continuing to advance the delivery of care in an effort to improve our community’s clinical outcomes and control health care costs for local consumers.”
 
Howe received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a master’s degree in health services administration from D’Youville College. Howe serves on the board of directors for the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, the board of trustees of D’Youville College and is an ex-officio member of the board of trustees for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, she serves on the advisory boards for Key Bank and the WNY Women’s Fund, and is a member of the National Association for Professional Women.
