EMR Clinical Transformation Specialist (Contractor)

ATTRIBUTES:
The EMR Clinical Transformation Specialist is a highly visible, hands-on position responsible for assisting physician practices with the transformation of clinical processes while leveraging the implementation of Healthcare Information Technology (HIT). The position will provide support for the coordination, integration, and analysis of clinical processes across ambulatory physician practices during and after the implementation of an EMR application. The individual will be able to leverage clinical information technology, process design, change management, and evidence to enable improvements in the patient care experience, quality, and financial and regulatory goals of ambulatory practice settings. The position supports care area improvement teams through the development and refinement of clinical designs, including process flows, order sets, decision support, analytic reporting, documentation templates and online forms. It is preferred that the individual will be knowledgeable of the Patient Centered Medical Home care delivery model.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The EMR Clinical Transformation Specialist is responsible for at least:
- Develop clinical transformation plans for individual physician practices in a variety of practice types and settings. The plan will include goals and objectives for each practice.
- Provide clinical transformation support to individual physician practices to help the practice achieve its defined goals.
- Establish/manage relationships with vendors and physician offices
- Provide systems workflow redesign consultation
- Meet project objectives in a timely basis
- Provide support for meaningful use and PCMH goal achievement
- Coordinate training and workflow redesign efforts to address HEALTHeLINK's web-based application (for those that are not using a practice-based EMR OR for those that may be using components of the web-based application, even though they have an EMR).
QUALIFICATIONS AND PREREQUISITES
- Bachelor of Science in a clinical area and an in-depth advanced clinical base of knowledge as normally obtained through five or more years of related clinical experience.
- Product-specific knowledge as it relates to improving workflow and template development
- Strong project management background, clinical background, training skills and have experience supporting offices through go-live
- Strong communication skills, documentation skills and the ability to work both independently and with groups are requirements
- It is preferred that three or more years of experience in managing performance/business process improvement activities, including analyzing clinical workflow processes utilizing PDCA, Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous process improvement methodologies.
- Prior experience and knowledge of in Medent, eClinicalWorks, Nextgen or Allscripts, or other leading EMR vendors is preferred
- Leadership and management experience of people, projects and assignments.
- Excellent organizational, advanced analytical, presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly professional manner and appearance
